Feel Better (Relief Stage)

The main reason people seek help from a chiropractor, or any medical physician, is because they are sick or in pain – they want to Feel Better.  In this phase of care, our main objective is to gain control to help you get out of pain.  This is where we rely heavily on our Active Release Technique (ART), Graston, Adjustments, Stretching, and Rock Tape.  It is also during this phase of care, that we rely on concepts learned from McKenzie practitioners.

Our goal during this phase of care is to classify your problem by relying on concepts such as centralization to guide our treatments.  For example, if you have pain in your low back while sitting that travels down your leg.  Our objective here would be to work on posture to help ease this pain while sitting and also to decrease the radiating pain.

Most patients tend to start in this phase of care.  Here, the average treatment plan is 2-3 times per week until the centralization process of pain has taken place.

Move Better (Corrective Phase)

During this phase of care, we start to expand our treatments so you Move Better.  We will reiterate the importance of posture, but also start to implement some rehabilitation by corrective exercise.  These exercises are geared to restoring proper function in oreder to relieve pain.  This  will help speed along the healing process while balancing out your body, keeping pain will not arise in the future.

It is important to know you might have flare ups.  They are to be expected and nothing to be concerned about.  Even when your symptoms are subsiding, it is critical to continue with your treatment plan and to do your at home recommendations.  The last thing you want is to stop treatment too soon and have the same problem comeback.  During this phase of care, we usually want to see you anywhere between 1-2 times per week.

Perform Better (Wellness Care)

During the Perform Better phase of care, you should have a solid understanding of your pain and how to manage it yourself.  You will know your body better then any one else.  Think of this as your tune up to prevent injury.  Here we will stretch, making sure there are no other muscle imbalances and perfecting quality of movement.  We will also use active release and stretching to help undo any ware and tear or micro trauma that builds up over the cores of every day living or sporting activities.

Many athletes use this phase to prepare for events in order to feel loose and on top of there game.  Maintenance visits will allow you to avoid many of the aches and pains that you suffer through life and help you to last longer during the events that you love.  During wellness care your treatment plan changes to monthly or as needed.
